To support the Rakai Research Collaboration based in rural Uganda, a partnership among researchers from Johns Hopkins University, Columbia University, Makerere University, and the Uganda Virus Research Institute. Funds will be used to complete the partially built new Rakai Project Clinical Laboratory and Training Centre in Kalisizo, Uganda, and to fund up to eight 2- to 4-month research fellowships at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine for Ugandan investigators working on the Rakai project.
