The GIS and database coordinator supports and enhances the effectiveness of geospatial data management and analysis for the Science & Conservation and Operations & Sustainability teams. The coordinator will manage GIS and database systems, provide technical GIS support and enable data-driven decision-making across conservation, ecological research, agricultural management and sustainability programs. This role will support staff scientists with data analysis, summarizing results and producing reports. In addition, the coordinator will maintain shared systems and standards to enable consistent, secure and accessible use of geospatial data.

The community-led conservation coordinator will lead the coordination and facilitation of multi-stakeholder partnerships to advance conservation goals across the region. The role centers on organizing coalitions of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), government agencies, academic institutions and community groups to co-develop strategies that enhance ecological resilience and support long-term restoration outcomes. The position also includes developing and managing community-led conservation science initiatives aimed at advancing nature-based solutions in peri-urban environments, with an initial emphasis on riparian restoration and landscape connectivity. The coordinator will serve as a liaison between Duke Farms and the community, ensuring that conservation efforts are informed by local knowledge, grounded in scientific integrity and focused on long-term environmental outcomes.

The community garden and programs coordinator advances local and regional community engagement efforts at Duke Farms by leading the Community Garden, delivering impactful public programming and supporting visitor engagement. This role provides leadership for the Community Garden while supporting programs, visitor engagement, membership experiences, events and partnerships that advance the mission of DDF and contribute to Duke Farms’ role as a leading convening space.

As a member of the community engagement team, the engagement associate supports the delivery of welcoming, well-coordinated visitor and event experiences at Duke Farms. This seasonal, front-line role contributes to daily operations and public programs by providing hospitality, assisting with events and logistical support for public amenities (café, bike rental service, orientation center and trails), and supporting positive interactions with visitors and community members.

The seasonal educator is a member of the Duke Farms Programs and Partnerships department. The educator communicates and interprets stewardship and sustainability initiatives with visitors, members and event attendees. The seasonal educator is responsible for developing and executing educational opportunities to a wide variety of audiences, while using their naturalist knowledge and experience as an educator to support learning. Through positive, inclusive and informed interactions, this role supports visitor understanding and connection to Duke Farms’ landscapes, programs and mission.

The safety and security officer is an integral member of the Duke Farms Safety and Security team. This role supports a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all who work at and visit Duke Farms. The officer collaborates across the Operations and Sustainability department and works closely with other internal teams, external partners and the public to ensure that safety protocols are followed with consistency, care and professionalism. The position requires sound judgment, clear communication and the ability to foster a respectful, responsive environment.

The collections manager leads and supervises a small cross-functional collections team and related contractors focused on stewarding the collection, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, standards and timelines. Responsible for the care, organization, documentation and activation of the museum’s collections, this role is the primary steward of the museum’s collection including objects, archives and associated records.
